Finding Hope Amidst the Chaos
On March 16, 2021, more tragedy broke out into the world as news of the Atlanta spa shooting spread like wildfire. With the continuing wave of Asian hate, this tragedy not only left the victims’ loved ones mourning, but also intensified the fear and anxiety within the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
As you know, Tamrah Lane is built on our identity as Filipinos and our Filipino culture. I pride myself in it. I feel privileged to be Filipino. But with the recent rise in anti-Asian incidents and hate crimes, I can’t help but feel fearful, anxious, and at a loss of hope.
Over the past few weeks, I have been looking for ways to stay hopeful to which I feel many fellow Asians can relate.
One of the biggest things that helps me is quotes – a familiar linguistic work of art passed down since the beginning of time. With that said, I’d like to share this list of uplifting quotes with you, our readers, especially for those of you who are going through a rough time. I invite you to repeat these to yourself, write it down on a piece of paper and post it up on your fridge, or share it with someone who could use it.
